And now a little story about the song itself:
"At Dawn" (or "In Heaven...") is a song by the band Alliance, released in 1987 as part of the album Alliance '87. The most famous song of the band. According to critics, it is considered one of the anthems of the generation.
The author of the music and lyrics is Oleg Parastaev, vocals are by Igor Zhuravlev[2]. The whole band worked on the final arrangement of the song.
The song was recorded in four hours and mixed the next day at Muslim Magomayev's studio by sound engineer Igor Zamaraev. According to Zhuravlev's memoirs, the drums were programmed on a Yamaha RX-11, the keyboards on a Prophet-10.
She originally appeared on the 1987 Alliance '87 magnetic album (also known as "Give Fire"). The song's concert debut took place in February 1987 at the Festival of Hopes. The performance of the song on "Rock Panorama 87" got on one of the records of the company "Melody" dedicated to the festival. There are several clips, one of which (where the group walks through the streets) was shown on television in the program "View". A video of the band's performance at the 1987 Moscow - Leningrad rock teleconference is known (in June 2020, a restored version of the video appeared on Parastaev's YouTube channel).
In early March 1987[8] in Moscow, on the territory of Tsaritsyno Park, the filming of the official music video for the song (directed by Mikhail Makarenkov) took place. Andrey Tumanov couldn't come, and Konstantin Gavrilov was late for the shoot, so they are not in the clip. The band members have never seen the result of the filming, although they watched the preliminary material.
Later, a certain Ilya, according to Parastaev, sent him a digital version of the clip, shot in 1987. The clip was uploaded to YouTube on April 5, 2019 on the Parastaev channel and acquired the status of a "viral video", gaining about 500 thousand views per day, after which the channel was blocked for "cheating". On April 9, the channel was restored. In October, Parastaev and Zhuravlev participate in the release of the DJ DimixeR Studio Youtube program dedicated to the song "At Dawn".
In April 2020, Oleg Parastaev, two months before his death, together with S. Arutyunov-Vertinsky, recorded a new version of the song — "At Dawn 2020", and also released a music video for it. The arrangement was made by DJ DimixeR.
