Part 5 of 7 of the wartime drama from 1977. Britain is at war with Germany, but the residents of 10 Dulcimer Street are more concerned by the trial of Percy Boon for the murder of Edith Watson. Everything seems to be going well until the defence decide to put Percy in the witness box. Doris is worried when Bill is granted a commission to go into the Royal Army Medical Corps, while Mr Squales seeks to better his image and get more money out of his intended Kitty Vizzard. He receives a letter from the wealthy Mrs Jan Byl to conduct a seance at her country house, but his journey there does not go entirely to plan as he becomes haunted again by disturbing visions...
Starring Derek Farr, Julia McCarthy, Madge Ryan, Peter Jeffrey, Patricia Hayes, Terence Budd, Betty Alberge, Fiona Gray, Trevor Eve, John Sharp, Margaret Courtenay, Clifford Parrish, Seymour Green, Barbara Atkinson, Ken Wynne, Paul Dawkins, Larry Noble, Mark Dignam, Christopher Driscoll, Denis De Marine, Robert Hartley, Mervyn Pascoe, Eileen Helsby, David Rolfe, Michael McKevitt and John Joyce. Episode 5 and despite the fact that the murder trial dominates the first 20 mins of this episode, there is still some amusement to be had from Squales' efforts to con the wealthy Mrs Jan Byl while trying to avoid detection from his intended, the formidable landlady Mrs Vizzard. Unfortunately those pesky visions get in the way at the most inopportune time. Please note by the way that this was found on a old video tape, so the beginning of this episode plays up briefly. Apologies in advance, but as mentioned this series is rare and does not seem to of been repeated since it's broadcast.
