Ep 1: Toxic Waste Syndrome. New member Sylvia Roux Teng wastes no time in making her mark in the office as the new Chief Trader and rubs a lot of people up the wrong way. Her unethical methods in claiming a deal from under the noses of fellow staff angers Wendy Foley, but it is her efforts to push through a deal with Ullman Klein that causes a crisis at Shane Longmans Bank when Sirrka - still recovering from alcoholism - discovers that they trade in nuclear waste and decides to take action.
Starring John Bowe, Emily Bolton, Douglas Hodge, Trevyn McDowell, William Armstrong, Joanna Kanska, Jason Isaccs, Rolf Saxon, Julia Phillips-Lane, Denys Hawthorne, Anna Nygh, Richard Le Parmentier, Briony Glasco, Mark Burns and Wayne Norman. This was the 2nd series of the banking drama - originally broadcast on October 18th 1990 - that was initially popular in 1989. Sadly the 2nd series seems to of had a drop in viewers, which caused for the series to be cancelled in 1990. Ironically it is probably a better series than the first and although stock markets aren't really my thing, this still makes for absorbing viewing - not least for the time capsule element of the late 1980's/early 90's. The first series I got from a charity shop some months back, but the 2nd series I did not have until I came across it on Youtube. I was going to link you to the account on there but it seems since I last looked that the videos have disappeared, so some good fortune that I saved these when I did. Either way, you have them here to watch and enjoy. Unlike Youtube, the old stuff on OK doesn't have a habit of disappearing. Further episodes to come later this afternoon. Until then, enjoy.
