Part 5 of 13 of the period drama. Despite the birth of their child, Paul and Grace's marriage continues to get worse, especially when Grace becomes interested in militant suffragette movement. This is due to the increased visits by Liberal MP James Grenfell, but his presence causes concern by some of the villagers, including Lord Gilroy who is not shy in letting his feelings known to Paul. Meanwhile a couple of arrivals create a stir in the village. One is Maureen O'Keefe, the doctor's daughter and one herself. The other is the return of Claire Derwent, which stirs up old feelings for Paul and jealousy in Grace - especially when Paul recommends Claire become nanny to their child. But a further storm is brewing - both figuratively and literally - leading to another tragedy in the village.
