Young boy Kevin is upset about his parents plans to move away from the area and away from his friend Donna. Deciding that he no longer cares about anything, he runs away from home. Unbeknownst to them both a group of Care Bears have been watching from above and realize they need to step in and help. But Kevin has wandered into the grounds of a dilapidated mansion, where a strange character called Professor Coldheart lives, putting Kevin in grave danger. Can Donna and the Care bears save him in time? With voice casts Anna MacCormack, Rick Jones, Abby Hagyard, Les Lye, Justin Cammy, Andrea Blake, Kathryn MacLelland and John Tarzwell, this was the cartoon debut of The Care Bears, who proved to be a big success in the 1980's. This is not my own recording, but one found on the end of an old video tape I acquired from a Car Boot sale years ago. Recorded from it's original broadcast in the UK on April 7th 1984, I debated whether to upload this or not, but decided that there is always someone looking out for something you may have, which is why I've decided to upload this on here. So depending on your point of view, this is either a adorable children's cartoon with it's heart in the right place, or a somewhat sickly sweet concoction. Either way, it's survived 40 years on a old video tape, so I feel it probably has earned the right to be preserved on here. For those who remember the Care Bears (and yes, I do) then enjoy.
